Construction
The construction industry produces 120 million tonnes of commercial, industrial and excavation waste per year, only half of which is currently recycled. Construction and demolition waste accounts for 19 per cent of the UK’s total waste.
Most of this waste, including bricks, concrete, soils, wood and metals could be re-used on site, or collected for recycling.
