The majority of waste wood comes from the construction and demolition industries, the commercial and industrial sectors and also from civic amenity sites and households.
Three quarters of recycled wood is used to make chipboard and the rest can be found in landscaping products, animal bedding and equine surfaces.
Recycled wood lasts longer and requires less energy to produce than virgin timber.
