Northern Resource Park

The Northern Resource Park at Hespin Wood is situated approximately 7km North of Carlisle. It occupies some 4 hectares of land within the boundaries of the existing Hespin Wood Landfill site. The site has been officially opened by Councillor John Wooley, Chairman of Cumbria County Council on 13th December 2011.

The resource park comprises of the following:

  • Mechanical Biological Treatment (MBT) plant, for processing up to 75,000 tonnes of residual waste per year, incorporating Ecodeco technology.
  • 2 weighbridges
  • Two storey administration building
  • Recycling storage building
